Why do I need professional educator insurance?
Our professional educator policy will guard you against financial devastation in the event you are named in a serious lawsuit arising in the course and scope of your responsibilities as an educator. It also provides coverage in many other areas related to your employment. Your school district’s policy covers the district first and foremost. Your protection starts the day you join. See coverage details at bottom of this page.
Your Rights in the Workplace
Teachers are protected from certain harms under the Equal Protection Clause of the Fourteenth Amendment of the Constitution. Teachers have the right to be free from discrimination based on race, sex, and national origin -- as well as freedom of expression, academics, privacy, and religion. No Teacher has to tolerate assault or discrimination as a condition of employment.
Teacher Pay & Working Conditions
Teacher Pay: American Teachers Alliance advocates to law and policy makers for competitive teacher pay.
Teachers are still underpaid in many states.
Working Conditions: You have a right to safe working conditions. A teacher should not have to endure assault for a paycheck. We’ve seen many problematic situations, such as teacher assault, that a school district tries to sweep under the rug. Our legal plan can help you if you are facing extreme working conditions. Other situations may include never being given a lunch break or any break during the day, or being asked to stay late at school every day without extra pay. You don’t have to endure abuse for a paycheck.
JANUS DECISION - U.S. SUPREME COURT:
YOU DO NOT HAVE TO JOIN AN EXPENSIVE TEACHER UNION.
PUBLIC EMPLOYEES HAVE A CHOICE.
Are you a union member but you don’t agree with the union’s values and political views?
You CAN leave the union. Contact us to learn how. info@americanteachers.me
